The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange ended Tuesday in the red for the third successive session, after shedding 7.41 pts or 0.14%, falling below the 5150-pt-level and closing at 5149.58 pts.

Turnover was seen at AED 265.857 million as 86.684 million shares traded through the execution of 1949 transactions, compared to Monday’s turnover of AED 319.764 million through the trading of 92.5 million shares and the execution of 2176 transactions.

Commenting on today’s market performance, senior equity analyst at Al Madina Investment Rami Riyad noted that Dana Gas was the main drag on Tuesday amid negative performance by most blue-chip stocks in both the banking and property sectors.

The ADX is expected to resume rally on the short term with the index targeting the level of 5200 pts, the analyst told Mubasher.

The energy sector topped decliners after falling by 3.50%, on the backdrop of Dana Gas’ share drop by 5.71% as 33.25 million shares traded worth AED 22.33 million. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi National Company rose by 0.85%.

Moreover, the real estate sector lost 0.14% as RAK Properties fell 1.98%. The industrial sector also declined on Tuesday, shedding 1.99%.

The services sector recorded the only gain today after adding 2.30% supported by Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) and the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels, which rose by 5.80% and 1.46%, respectively.
